Harlan has been an international training specialist in the area of leadership development, management and communications skills for over 12 years while serving a range of national non-profit and for-profit companies, medical, legal and entrepreneurial professional membership organizations, and government offices both in the United States and abroad. After serving as a Recording Secretary to the Hague Conference on Private International Law in the Netherlands, Harlan returned to the United States, and worked for a large international law firm, before leaving to start his own law practice. In 1998, Harlan was asked to serve as the CEO of a non-profit adoption agency, and during his tenure he was elected to serve as Chairman of the Adoption Committee of the American Bar Association Family Law Section, a fellow of the American Academy of Adoption Attorneys, and was the recipient of the Angel in Adoption Award from the United States Congress. A frequent contributor to policy meetings, Harlan was asked to assist the National Council for Adoption in developing an adoption training program, and then became a member and trainer for the Young Entrepreneur Organization.
Armed with the belief that effective communication is the key to personal and professional success, Harlan left the non-profit world, and now dedicates his energies teaching executives and managers leadership, managerial psychology, motivation and public performance. Harlan is delighted to have found a home with the JCris Consulting Group.
